PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a power regeneration process at an appropriate start timing irrespective of whether there are harmonics applied to an AC power supply.SOLUTION: A power-regenerative converter includes: an AC current detection section 12 for detecting an AC current flow state Iac of each phase of an input AC power supply 200; a regenerative converter section 11 having a rectifying bridge circuit 11a for full-wave-rectifying the AC power supply 200 to output a DC voltage Vdc, and a regenerative switching section 11b in which sets of two arm switching elements 51 connected in series are connected in parallel in correspondence with the phases of the rectifying bridge circuit 11a; a smoothing capacitor 2 for smoothing the DC voltage Vdc; and a converter regeneration control section 14 for performing a converter side power regeneration process at a start timing triggered by a change in the AC current flow state Iac from a flowing state to a non-flowing state. |
