The present invention provides a method for implementing a point based rewards system which facilitates the donations of used goods, funds, volunteer services or human tissue from donor members to charities for points. These said points can then be redeemed for a reward, such as a discount, from participating merchants. The said merchants, in turn, earn points for issuing rewards to donor members, which entitle them to receive merchant rewards such as discounted advertising or merchant goods and/or services from sponsoring organisations.
