Provided is a porous membrane comprising a membranous porous structure having a co-continuous structure, wherein the porous membrane is characterized in that at least one main surface of the porous structure is modified by a modifying compound different from a compound constituting the porous structure. According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a porous membrane having minimized formation of a skin layer, thus making it possible to manifest excellent ion conductivity when used for electrolytic uses.
