An endoscope system comprises: a light source device (3) further comprising LEDs (23r, 23g, 23b) of a plurality of colors, and a color sensor (27) which senses an LED breakdown; a scope (2) which projects on a subject an illumination light which is emitted by the light source device (3) and acquires an optical image of the subject; a CCD (13) which captures the optical image of the subject; a video processor (4) which processes the image which is captured by the CCD (13); and a monitor which displays the image which is processed by the video processor (4). If the breakdown is sensed in any of the LEDs by the color sensor (27), the video processor (4) switches to image processing, which differs from the image processing when the LED breakdown is not sensed, corresponding to the emitted light of only the LED in which the breakdown is not sensed. |
