The invention relates to a snow-plough device which is intended to clear snow from in front of each of the wheels of any vehicle, suitable for individual or industrial use, and which be used with or without traditional vehicle snow chains. The device improves the stability of vehicles in other difficult meterological conditions, including mud, sand, gravel and other obstacles. If a vehicle is travelling on an extremely slippery surface, the snow-plough device can be used to increase stability and to brake the vehicle if necessary. The snow-plough device is lowered to ground level or retracted under the mudguards as necessary.
