Disclosed is a novel method for searching for an image at high speed on the basis of only coding unit depth information of an HEVC, which is a next-generation image encoding CODEC. Compared with conventional methods for partitioning a frame into 16 sub-images and re-partitioning one sub-image into fixed image-blocks to perform computation, the method for searching for an image, according to the present invention, uses a 64x64 size block, which is the largest coding unit (LCU) used in the HEVC encoding CODEC itself. Furthermore, the method for searching for an image, according to the present invention, comprises: partitioning an image-block unit into five kinds of edges to calculate a histogram; and searching for an image on the basis of depth information in which the LCU is partitioned, unlike the conventional method which uses the histogram as a basis for searching for an image. Thus, since there is no need to perform the edge calculation which was performed in the conventional method, the present invention can search for an image with relatively little computation by using only coding unit depth data that can be naturally obtained through an encoding step even without additional calculations. |
