Disclose is an EGR system comprising an EGR line connected to an air intake line branched from an air exhaust line; an EGR valve and an EGR cooler on the EGR line; a temperature sensor at the rear end of the EGR valve on the EGR line; a cooling line which has a refrigerant pump and which cools the EGR cooler and an engine by circulating them; and a control part which measures the temperature of EGR gas using the temperature sensor by opening or closing the EGR valve when the refrigerant pump is being operated or stopped and which detects the malfunction of the EGR valve and the EGR cooler by comparing the measurement results.
