PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impact absorption member extremely useful as a constitutional material for a protection device, capable of destroying a high speed flying body, surely preventing transmission of small pieces or impact stress waves caused by crush to a back surface side, and having light weight and being manufactured easily.SOLUTION: An impact absorption material 50 includes a ceramics conjugate 15 having a first sheet-like member 5 consisting of ceramics containing boron carbide of 60 mass% or more and having thickness of 0.1 to 50 mm, and a junction layer arranged between adjacent first sheet-like members 5 and jointing mutually opposing junction surfaces of the adjacent first sheet-like members 5, the junction layer contains jointing material containing at least one kind of metal selected from a group consisting of aluminium, copper, silver and gold, and a plurality of voids are formed in a boundary surface between the first sheet-like member 5 and the junction surface. |
