The axle has a central crossbeam interposed between lateral arms on each side of a vehicle, where the arms are connected to a front end (200) of the vehicle structure and support sub-axle supports (3) at rear end. An aerodynamic fairing (5) covers the crossbeam from underneath. A part of the arms is extended between ends of the crossbeam and rear ends of the arms. The fairing is a plastic piece made from a single piece, where the piece is in U-shape. A part of a central branch is shaped to fit and close a downwardly facing opening formed along the crossbeam.
