PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively reduce noise generated at random in a low frequency region from an image obtained by an image pickup device.SOLUTION: An image processing method for reducing noise included in three-dimensional image data of an imaged and integrated object by using an imaging apparatus at a plurality of different positions in an optical axis direction comprises steps of: performing frequency conversion to the three-dimensional image data in the optical axis direction, thereby calculating three-dimensional conversion image data; reducing an absolute value of the three-dimensional conversion image data by a specified frequency region, thereby calculating three-dimensional modulation image data; and performing inverse frequency conversion corresponding to the frequency conversion to the three-dimensional modulation image data in the optical axis direction, thereby calculating three-dimensional inverse conversion image data. The specified frequency region is a part of a region expressed by |f|>0.01 NA/λ, where fis spatial frequency in the optical axis direction, NA is a numerical aperture on an object side of the imaging optical system, and λ is a wavelength of light from the object. |
