PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indicator for formaldehyde sterilization that can be used for both of cold vapor formaldehyde sterilization processing and formaldehyde gas sterilization processing.SOLUTION: An indicator 16 for formaldehyde sterilization contains, as a discoloration component coming into contact with formaldehyde and changing color, amino compounds selected from a hydrazine compound, pyrimidinic compound, organic acid, sulfanilic acid, 4-acetamide benzoic acid, amino benzoic acid, aminonaphtholsulfonic acid, aminonaphthalenesulfonic acid, aminotoluene sulfonic acid, aminoacetate, amino nicotinic acid, aminonaphthoic acid, aminohydroxybenzoic acid, aminophenyl acetic acid, and amino propionic acid. The indicator is used for both sterilization processing of cold vapor formaldehyde sterilization processing for exposing an object to be sterilized to formaldehyde containing water vapor and formaldehyde gas sterilization processing for exposing it to formaldehyde gas, the discoloration component changes color when the sterilization of the object to be sterilized is completed. |
