PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably detect hard disk failure.SOLUTION: The information processing device comprises: non-response monitoring means 12 which creates a non-response monitoring thread 11 for performing writing processing to a hard disk and monitors a state of the hard disk by monitoring the writing by the non-response monitoring thread 11; and alarm means 13 which outputs an alarm, when the non-response monitoring means 12 determines that failure is occurring in the hard disk. When the writing processing of the non-response monitoring thread 11 fails certain number of times, the non-response monitoring means 12 determines that failure is occurring in the hard disk.
