PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery which uses a titanium-containing complex oxide for a negative electrode, and which is arranged to exhibit a smaller amount of gas generation during a cycle operation and superior cycle stability by neutralizing a basic impurity included in the titanium-containing complex oxide in the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises: a negative electrode; a positive electrode; and a nonaqueous electrolyte interposed between the negative and positive electrodes. The negative electrode has a piece of conductive foil, and a negative electrode active material layer formed on the piece of conductive foil. The negative electrode active material layer is formed by a mixture containing at least a titanium-containing complex oxide, a conductive assistant material and a binder. The mixture includes acid functional groups in a range of 0.005-0.5 meq/g. |
