In this invention, when pairing with an electronic device to be controlled remotely, the closest electronic device is determined accurately. This terminal apparatus is provided with a reception-signal-strength acquisition unit, a device-selection processing unit, and a connection unit. The reception-signal-strength acquisition unit receives signals transmitted by a plurality of electronic devices and acquires the electric-field strength of each received signal. On the basis of normalized electric-field strengths, each of which is a value obtained by normalizing the electric-field strength of a received signal using a characteristic parameter corresponding to the electronic device that transmitted said received signal, the device-selection processing unit selects one of the electronic devices to connect to, and the connection unit connects to the electronic device selected by the device-selection processing unit. |
