The invention relates to a method for producing a metal strip, by applying a metal melt to a moving ferromagnetic conveyor belt, wherein an electromagnetic alternating field, which is at least predominantly or substantially perpendicular to the surface of the metal melt, is generated by means of a magnet system comprising a magnet yoke and coil. The alternating field is formed by a pair of electrically connected coils arranged parallel to one another and extending in the width direction of the metal strip. The alternating field acts stationarily on the melt, across the entire width of the metal strip that is forming, in such a manner that in the width direction of the metal strip an electromagnetic flux is generated in the metal melt and, by means of superimposition with the alternating field, force is exerted perpendicularly on the metal melt. |
