<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of setting a coagulant injection rate which provides a criterion supporting the determination of an operator conducting a jar test, in determining an optimal coagulant injection rate.SOLUTION: A method of setting a coagulant injection rate comprises sampling water to be treated in a plurality of water baths for testing, injecting a coagulant in the individual water samples sampled in the water baths for testing at different injection rates, stirring the water samples injected with the coagulant and measuring the turbidity of the supernatant of individual water samples after a specified time of standing after completion of the stirring, calculating an index acquired on the basis of a time necessary for suction filtration of the supernatant, setting an allowable value for the index on the basis of the water level of the filtration basin to which the water to be treated after a precipitation treatment of the turbid matter in water to be treated in a precipitation basin is supplied and the index, and setting a coagulant injection rate on the basis of the turbidity, the index and the allowable value.</p> |
