PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve color reproducibility by improving the whiteness of a white ground layer on a recording medium, while suppressing the occurrence of transfer defects and fixing defects when a fixing mode is selected multiple times in an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A process control unit 40 controls an image forming unit 20 according to a mode selected from a collective fixing mode to collectively transfer and fix a white color material and color materials other than white onto a recording medium and a multiple-time fixing mode to separately transfer and fix the white color material and materials other than white onto the recording medium. In particular, the process control unit 40 controls image formation according to a first parameter value related to the amount of the white color material in the collective fixing mode, and controls image formation according to a second parameter value related to the amount of the white color material in the multiple-time fixing mode. The second parameter value is a value larger than the first parameter value. |
