The present invention includes: a receiving step for receiving an encoded stream that includes a plurality of files that are data units of a prescribed file format; a storage step for storing in a storage unit the plurality of files received in the encoded stream; and a generation step for generating first control information that is associated with the plurality of files, the first control information being used for regenerating the stored plurality of files. Thereby provided is a storage method for data from a single encoded stream that is partitioned into a plurality of files.
