<p>Provided is a display device that can reduce degradation in 3 D characteristics (crosstalk). A phase shifting element is bonded to the light output side surface of a liquid crystal display panel. In the phase shifting element two types of phase shifting regions (phase shifting region for the right eye and phase shifting region for the left eye) the orientations of the slow axes of which differ from each other are disposed in correspondence with each pixel.
