PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope system acquiring an observation image in which an observation part such as a surface fine blood vessel is made clear, and to provide a light source device for an endoscope system, and an operation method for an endoscope system.SOLUTION: The endoscope system including a B-LED for emitting B light, G-LED for emitting G light, and R-LED for emitting R light acquires a normal light image and special light image which have brightness differing from each other by imaging an analyte irradiated with the B light, G light, and R light. The endoscope system performs control of switching between first light volume values of the B light, G light, and R light with which the analyte is irradiated in acquiring the normal light image and second light volume values of the B light, G light, and R light with which the analyte is irradiated in acquiring the special light image. The endoscope system makes the second light volume values of the B light, G light, and R light have the relation of a light volume of the B light>a light volume of the G light>a light volume of the R light, when acquiring a special light image in which a surface layer blood vessel or surface layer fine structure is made clear; and makes the second light volume values of the B light, G light, and R light relate so that the light volume of the G light or the light volume of the R light is larger than the light volume of the B light, when acquiring a special light image in which a middle layer blood vessel or middle-deep layer fine structure is made to be clear. |
