PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous sizing agent which eliminates the need of a heat cleaning step and a surface treatment step in cases using an aqueous sizing agent containing starch, suppresses increase of the generation rate of static electricity in cases using an aqueous sizing agent containing an epoxy resin and variation of yarn quality in a high-temperature environment and is stable and excellent in weavability.SOLUTION: An aqueous sizing agent comprises 100 pts. mass of a silane coupling agent (A), 50-700 pts. mass of a film-forming agent (B), 10-50 pts. mass of an antistatic agent (C) and 10-50 pts. mass of a flexibilizer (D) and is free of starch and an epoxy resin.
