摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a frequency of occurrence of collision of registration request signals which a station side optical line termination device receives from a plurality of subscriber side optical line termination devices.SOLUTION: An optical communication system comprises a station side optical line termination device and a plurality of subscriber side optical line termination devices which are grouped such that they each belong to any of a plurality of groups. The station side optical line termination device generates a plurality of registration request transmission control signals that each store different group identifiers from group identifiers of the plurality of groups, and transmits them to the plurality of subscriber side optical line termination devices. If a group identifier stored in a received registration request transmission control signal accords with a group identifier of a group which its own device belongs to, an unregistered subscriber side optical line termination device determines that the registration request signal should be transmitted, and if it does not accord, determines that the registration request signal should not be transmitted.
