PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problems: in a time zone of a planned power outage or power suppression, an unexpected power failure may occur in spite of an advance notice; when an image forming apparatus is turned off suddenly (the power is cut off without turning off a power switch), it takes a long time for recovery; and in other cases, recovery may fail even if the power is normally supplied.SOLUTION: According to the time left before a time zone of planned power outage or power suppression, an image forming apparatus is controlled to operate in fail-soft mode, to reduce the upper limit (to limit the number of sheets to be copied or the number of copies), and to limit operation mode (to enable only transmission after scanning), in stages (fail-soft preparation mode). In the above time zone, the image forming apparatus continues operation in power-outage mode, by further limiting functions, against the power suppression (including power interruption) of the image forming apparatus. |
