摘要 The present invention relates to an image processing apparatus, which comprises: a signal input unit for converting input signals of a first color gamut, which displays image data, into linear first image signals; a color gamut conversion unit for converting the first image signals into second image signals of a second color gamut in order to display the same on an image output device which displays the second color gamut narrower than the first color gamut; a blend coefficient setting unit for setting a blend coefficient which defines the composition ratio of the first and second image signals based on chroma obtained from the input signals; and a color composition unit for generating composition image signals in which the first and second image signals are composed at the ratio according to the set blend coefficient. The blend coefficient setting unit sets the upper limit of the chroma in which the composed image signals generated in the color composition unit by the blend coefficient, are changed into the second image signals based on chrominance of boundary lines between the first and second color gamut, and a chroma component in a boundary line of the first gamut when the boundary lines between the first and second color gamut is converted into a L*a*b* space.
