PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to use a Ca-based neutralizing agent and a neutralizing agent other than a Ca-based agent derived from base rock in actual operation purifying hematite where a sulfur constituent is low to be used as iron manufacture raw material from leaching residue containing minute iron oxide produced in HPAL process, and to provide a manufacturing method of the hematite making it possible to sintering of very slight powder ore which was not used traditionally.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of hematite for iron manufacture (high purity) in a process leaching valuable metals under elevated temperature and pressure by adding mineral acid and oxidizer to ore containing iron and the valuable metals includes (1) a high pressure leaching step, (2) a preliminary neutralization step, (3) a solid-liquid separation step 1, (4) a neutralization step 1, (5) a neutralization step 2, (6) a solid-liquid separation step 3, (7) a seed crystal addition step, (8) a solid-liquid separation step 2, and (9) a calcination step. |
