<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent reduction in colorimetric accuracy due to dust, such as paper dust, on a colorimetric device or a color reference member, to obtain high colorimetric accuracy.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: the colorimetric device which detects chromaticity of a patch train formed on a recording medium in an image forming section, on a conveyance path; and attitude change means which changes the attitude of the colorimetric device to a first attitude so as to be parallel with the conveyance path, or a second attitude so as to intersect with the conveyance path. The attitude change means changes the attitude of the colorimetric device to the first attitude in a colorimetric mode that detects chromaticity of the patch train, and changes the attitude of the colorimetric device to the second attitude in a non-colorimetric mode that does not detect chromaticity of the patch train, where the upstream in a recording-medium conveyance direction retreats from the conveyance path and the downstream protrudes to the conveyance path, and the upstream of a detection area for detecting chromaticity of the patch train in the colorimetric device intersects with the conveyance path.</p> |
