A knitted sock e.g. a knitted double layered knitted sock, where the knitted inside face of the sock is in-laid with semi-adhesive fibre 1, 2 to increase the socks grip on the wearers foot. The in-laid semi-adhesive fibre is preferably textured or has adhesive properties such as a silicone based thread that increases the grip, and is in-laid to ensure the fibre sits on top of the knitting yarn on the inside of the sock to ensure the fibre sits on top of the knitted face and is in full contact with the wearers skin. The semi-adhesive fibre can be laid in every course /wale of the sock or over every other course/wale of the sock, depending on the amount of grip required, and may focus on areas of the sock that require increased grip of the sock to the wearers foot e.g. fully encompass the circumference of the wearers foot. Preferably the sock is a standard double layered sports sock, with a face and backing yarn, where the semi-adhesive fibre is in-laid into the backing yarn. |
