Twin screw extruder with wavy screw thread

The extruder screw (10) has a core (12), where a bar (14) helically encircles a lateral surface of the core. The core has a peripheral surface (18) and two flanks (22,24). A roller gap (30) is formed between adjacent web windings. The flanks of the bar have the form of a shaft running in circumferential direction. The shaft structure of the flanks is periodical in individual sections of the extruder screw.
