A method of manufacturing an electronic identity document

A method of manufacturing an electronic identifying document, the latter of the type comprising a plastic medium bearing identification data in physical form and a microprocessor bearing the same identification data in electronic format, which method comprises the steps of:
- handling a data sequence for the physical customization of a matrix of elements on a data sheet and for the electronic customization of a matrix of electronic storage means assembled in an inlay sheet;
- sending the customization data simultaneously - or however in almost such logic sequence - to several writing devices of the physical medium and to several devices for coding the electronic storage means;
- performing the data writing on the data sheet and on the inlay sheet; and
- assembling the data sheet bearing identification data in graphic form with the inlay sheet bearing identification data in electronic format, before the step of manufacturing the document (Figures 1 and 2).
