<p>The invention relates to a turning insert (1), comprising one or more corners (5) having two edges (4, 6) formed between a chip-breaking surface (7) and clearance surfaces, a first one (4) of which edges is chip removing and the second (6) surface finishing. Characteristic of the invention is that the first edge (4) is straight and transforms into the second edge (6) via a sharp transition (18). Also the second, surface finishing edge (6) may advantageously be straight. The sharp transition (18) between the edges (4, 6) may advantageously be provided by the fact that clearance surfaces adjacent to the same are ground in planes extending at an obtuse angle to each other.</p> |
