<p>A recording medium transport device includes a connecting member that connects two transport roller pairs, and a drive switching section that is provided to one of the two transport roller pairs, and switches between a state in which a rotational drive force is transmitted between the two transport roller pairs via the connecting member and a state in which the rotational drive force is not transmitted between the two transport roller pairs. A controller of the recording medium transport device causes the drive switching section to switch from the state in which the rotational drive force is not transmitted between the two transport roller pairs to the state in which the rotational drive force is transmitted between the two transport roller pairs via the connecting member, when the rotational speed of at least one of the transport roller pairs falls outside a predetermined speed range.</p> |
