摘要 A subject information acquiring apparatus of the present invention includes a probe which has a plurality of elements arranged in an array which receive elastic waves propagating within a subject and converts the received elastic waves to a received signals, a first signal processing unit which uses the received signals output by the elements to calculate a first output signal corresponding to the elastic waves from a target position, a second signal processing unit which uses the first output signal for the target position to calculate a second output signal corresponding to elastic waves from the target position, and an image processing unit which uses the second output signal to generate image data for display. In this case, at least one of the first signal processing unit and the second signal processing unit uses adaptive signal processing to calculate the first output signal or the second output signal.

A subject information acquiring apparatus comprising: a probe having a plurality of elements arranged in a first direction, each of the elements configured to receive an elastic wave propagating within a subject and convert the received elastic wave to a received signal; a stage configured to move the probe in a second direction; a first signal processing unit configured to calculate first output signals using a plurality of received signals output by the elements, each of the first output signals corresponding to different elastic waves from different target positions within the subject, wherein the first output signals include phase information of the elastic waves from the different target positions; a second signal processing unit configured to calculate a second output signal using a plurality of the first output signals corresponding to different elastic waves from target positions mutually different in the second direction within the subject; and an image processing unit configured to generate image data for display using the second output signal, wherein at least one of the first signal processing unit and the second signal processing unit uses adaptive signal processing to calculate the first output signal or the second output signal.
