<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid discharge device appropriately performing control of a heating section, and further to provide a heating section control method.SOLUTION: A liquid discharge device comprises: a head capable of discharging liquid; a heating section 40 capable of heating a medium discharged with the liquid; a detection section 72 detecting energy of a detection range; a control section capable of changing output of the heating section 40 on the basis of the energy detected by the detection section 72; and a portion-to-be-sensed 36 capable of being displaced to a first position 36a positioned in a detection range B and to a second position 36b different from the first position 36a. The detection section 72 detects energy of the portion-to-be-sensed 36 when the portion-to-be-sensed 36 is positioned at the first position 36a.</p> |
