PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable adjustment of an emitted light quantity of a light emitting element irrespective of a frequency for causing the light emitting element to emit light for each main scanning line when using a linear light source in which the light emitting element is arranged in the main scanning direction.SOLUTION: Correction data indicating light emitting characteristics of each of a plurality of LED elements is acquired. A light emitting time correction value for correcting a light emitting time is generated to match the emitted light quantity of the plurality of LED elements. A power correction value for correcting the power when light emission is controlled is generated so that the emitted light quantity of an LEDA print head 130 is a light quantity needed for forming an electrostatic latent image on a photoreceptor. The LEDA print head 130 is subjected to light emission control based on the light emitting time correction value and the power correction value.
