PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire polarization information including linear polarization and circular polarization in a short time and statically with high accuracy.SOLUTION: A sensor 100 has: a phase adjustment unit 110; a light detection unit 120; and a photoelectric conversion unit 130. The phase adjustment unit has three or more areas 111 to 114, and these areas include at least two areas mutually different in an amount of phase adjustment. Further, these areas include at least two areas in which a mutual amount of phase adjustment is the same and an angle formed by a direction of a slow axis is different only by 20 degrees or more and 160 degrees or less.
