In an electrically-operated mechanism for opening and closing moulds in a machine for forming hollow glass objects designed to open and close forming moulds 10-14 provision is made for control to be effected through an electric servomotor 2 which is capable of accurately monitoring the opening and closing of the forming moulds 10-14 in a so-called "I.S." machine (figure 2).
