<p>Disclosed herein is an oil-in-water emulsion composition having at least one agriculturally active compound, the oil-in-water emulsion composition comprising: A) an oil phase, wherein the oil phase comprises at least one agriculturally active ingredient, said oil phase comprising oily globules, the oily globules having a mean particle diameter of less than about 800 nanometers; and B) an aqueous phase, wherein the oily globules are dispersed in the aqueous phase and wherein at least some of the oily globules dispersed in the aqueous phase are coated with a polymeric adsorption layer, wherein said polymeric adsorption layer consists of: (1) at least one polymeric surface-active agent having an HLB value in the range of about 16 to about 18; and (2) at least one ionic surface-active agent.Agriculturally active ingredients that can be used with the emulsion include, pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, mitocides, bactericides and the like. Also disclosed are methods of using the oil-in-water emulsions to treat plants and on surfaces adjacent to plants, plant pests or other pests.</p> |
