A retainer (30) is crown-shaped and has: a substantially annular ring (31); columns (32) arranged at predetermined intervals and axially protruding from the front face side or the rear face side of the ring (31); and pockets (33) each formed between adjacent columns (32). The center of spherical surface of each of the pockets (33) is offset radially inward relative to the radial center of the ring (31). The radial cross-sectional shape of each of the pockets (33) is a circle having an arbitrary radius (r) and consisting of a circular arc (33a) which connects the radial inner surface (31a) and radial outer surface (31b) of the ring (31). The radial inner section of the circular arc (33a) is cut out to form an axially extending first straight-shaped section (33b). |
