<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method that can produce silica more efficiently than before as a method for producing biosilica using a peptide. <P>SOLUTION: The peptide used for producing biosilica includes an amino acid sequence comprising basic amino acids arranged every 3 amino acid residues and havingα-helix forming ability. The basic amino acids may be the same or different and are arginine, lysine, or histidine. Furthermore, the sequence comprising hydrophobic amino acids arranged every 3 amino acid residues is included. In the method for producing biosilica, a silicic acid source is at least one silicon-containing compound selected from the group consisting of silicic acid, an alkali metal salt of silicic acid, an alkaline earth metal salt of silicic acid, and alkoxysilane. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
