An apparatus for setting a filter compensation coefficient of a level measuring instrument is disclosed. The apparatus for setting a compensation coefficient of a digital filter according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a parameter generation unit to generate a parameter related to the level measuring instrument; a communications unit connected to a wired or wireless communications network to request a filter compensation coefficient corresponding to the generated environment parameter, and receive the filter compensation coefficient in response to the request; and a filter compensation coefficient setting unit to apply the received filter compensation coefficient to the digital filter.
