PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of maintaining a conversion rate of raw materials and a selectivity ratio of an object in a good range and improving an adverse effect of using non-condensable gas in a large amount while sufficiently exhibiting an effect of suppressing deterioration of a catalyst in a method for producing a fluorine-containing olefin by reacting a chlorine-containing alkane or a chlorine-containing alkene as raw materials with anhydrous hydrogen fluoride in the presence of a catalyst.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing a fluorine-containing olefin by reacting a chlorine-containing compound represented by a specific general formula with anhydrous hydrogen fluoride in the presence of a fluorination catalyst containing chromium atoms, wherein the reaction is carried out at a temperature range of 200 to 350°C in the presence of 0.0001 to 0.03 mol of molecular chlorine with respect to 1 mole of the chlorine-containing compound.
