The present invention provides: an alicyclic epoxy resin that provides a cured product with excellent toughness; a curable resin composition containing the epoxy resin; and a cured material. The epoxy resin is obtained by reacting the composition in formula (1) with an epihalohydrin, and has a triglycidyl ether structure with a 40 to 75 area percent and a tetraglycidyl ether body with a 12 to 40 area percent, when measured by gel permeation chromatography.
