The present invention relates to an early detection system and method on the altering course of a target ship to prevent collision from an adjacent vessel. For this, the present invention includes an AIS information extracting part which extracts the NMEA information of the vessel from an autopolit; an AIS information obtaining part which obtains AIS information from an AIS; an AIS message transmitting part which generates veering information by selectively mixing the AIS information and the NMEA information, and transmits the generated veering information through an AIS interface according to the format of the AIS message; a veering information extracting part which extracts the veering information from the AIS message received from the AIS message transmitting part; and a veering information displaying part which displays the extracted veering information on the display screen of an ECDIS.
