The invention provides a variable valve of an internal combustion engine, which can inhibit generating noise when connecting or disconnecting multiple swing arms through a solenoid. In a variable valve (26) that connects or disconnects an operation-continuing arm (28) with an intermittent arm (29) by making a connecting pin (45) move back and forth, a first end wall (44) is formed in an intermittent side guide hole (42), which can make the front end contact when a limit pin (46) moves forward in maximum extent. The first end wall comprises an oil supply passage (60) that is set inside an inlet side arm shaft (35); a first oil supply hole (61) in the inner surface of the intermittent side guide hole (42) that is communicated with the oil supply passage (60) and is close to the side opening of the first end wall (44) compared to the front end when the limit pin (46) moves backwards in the maximum extent; and a first oil exhaust hole (62) has an opening on the upper part of the outer surface of the intermittent arm (29) and is in the inner surface of the intermittent side guide hole (42) that is communicated with the oil supply passage (60) and is close to the first end wall (44) compared to the front end when the limit pin (46) moves backwards in the maximum extent.
