PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide new tricyclic compounds that may be used for modulating a histamine receptor in an individual.SOLUTION: This disclosure relates to new tricyclic compounds that may be used to modulate a histamine receptor in an individual. Compounds are described, including new 2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1H-pyrido[4,3-b]indole compounds. The present invention also provides pharmaceutical compositions comprising the compounds; and methods of using the compounds in a variety of therapeutic applications, including the treatment of a cognitive disorder, a psychotic disorder, a neurotransmitter-mediated disorder and/or a neuronal disorder.
