A horizontal press-type push-button switch having a housing mounted in a stable state to a circuit board and whereby reliable switching operations can be performed can be provided as a result of improving the strength of a rear surface side of the housing that is subject to external force, particularly weight, that is applied thereto in conjunction with the switching operation of a push-button member. The push-button switch comprises: a housing (22) housing a switch contact; the push-button member (14) provided in a front surface center section (22c) of the housing (22) and whereby a press operation is performed on the switch contact; and a channel-shaped holding frame (13) that covers the outer peripheral surface of the housing (22). Both end sections of the holding frame (13) are fixed to both front surface side sections (22d) of the housing (22) by both sides of the push-button member (14).
