<p>An apparatus for the sterilization of dental and/or surgical instruments comprises a sterilizing gas producing device for supply of gas composition, a treating device for receiving and treating, neutralizing or absorbing a residual gas composition, the device having a gas inlet for receipt of the residual gas composition, a sterilization chamber that is a flexible or collapsible container having a sealable opening through which a dental/surgical instrument may be placed in the container and an inlet for receiving into the container a sterilizing gas from the gas producing device and an outlet through which residual gas may be expelled or drawn to the gas inlet of the treating device, a supply conduit for providing fluid communication. The provision of the flexible container separate from the gas composition producing device provides a significantly more portable system. This enables good practice in sterilization of dental and surgical instruments and reduces the risk of infection through dental and surgical treatment.</p> |
