The purpose of the present invention is to provide a stitching device and stitching method that are able to press a stitching jig against a specified portion of the surface of a tire intermediate from the perpendicular direction. For this stitching device, the fulcrum part is configured so as to be able to move in the tire width direction of the tire intermediate or the fulcrum part and the stitching part are configured so as to be positioned opposite each other with the equatorial plane of the tire intermediate as the boundary. This stitching method is characterized: in comprising a step for moving the fulcrum part in the tire width direction of the tire intermediate during the stitching action; or in the fulcrum part and the stitching part being positioned opposite each other with the equatorial plane of the tire intermediate as a boundary during the stitching action. |
