<p>There is provided a process for the installation of optical fiber sensors onto pipelines, the process is characterized in that it comprises the following steps: Cleaning of a surface portion of the pipeline at a surface portion where said optical fiber sensors have to be applied; Spreading on to said surface portion of said pipeline of a layer of adhesive; Positioning with controlled tension of one or more optical fibers onto said layer of adhesive and along the entire length of said pipeline; and controlling the positioning of said one or more optical fibers along said pipeline, by positioning said one or more optical fibers onto the entire predetermined length of said pipeline. It also provided an apparatus for carrying out the present process.</p> |
