The invention relates to a converter unit having a damping system and having a torque-transmitting unit for releasably connecting an input shaft to an output shaft, wherein the torque-transmitting unit has a housing which rotates along and the damping system is mounted on the housing in such a way that it can be centered and released. With the converter unit proposed here it is possible to employ standard components which can be used in such a way that they can be mounted compactly and easily.
